TWINTECH Host “Petaling Utama District School Anti-Bullying for Empowerment (SAFE) Framework Training Workshop 2026”

In a concerted effort to champion the Ministry of Education’s vision for safe and compassionate school environments, Twintech International University College of Technology, in partnership with TOC Automotive College, officially launched the two-day “Petaling Utama District School Anti-Bullying for Empowerment (SAFE) Framework Training Workshop 2026” today at TWINTECH’s main campus. Running from July 15 to 16, the workshop has brought together district education officers, school counsellors, and student representatives from across Petaling Utama to systematically address and strengthen anti-bullying initiatives in local schools.

As the host institution, Twintech International University College of Technology expressed its honour in providing the venue and academic support to facilitate this critical capacity-building programme under the national SAFE initiative. In his welcome address, the University’s vice president Professor Dr. Selvaraj Oyyan Pillay extended a warm greeting to all participants and underscored that a university’s role extends beyond academic pursuit to active community engagement. He further emphasised that this cross-institutional collaboration with TOC Automotive College not only reflects TWINTECH’s enduring commitment to educational ecosystem development but also demonstrates the powerful synergy achievable through inter-collegiate cooperation.This was followed by a speech by Mr Alfred Foo, the COO of TOC College of Automative who stressed on the TVET education and its importance for school leavers after SPM. He further eloborated on the working relationship between TOC and Twintech. Getting students to be involved in skill based activities can also assist to distract them away from bullying, he stressed.

The workshop’s first day (July 15) featured a comprehensive and interactive agenda, commencing at 8:00 a.m. with registration and breakfast, followed by opening remarks from both host institutions. The sessions included a detailed briefing on the Ministry’s Integrated Student Management System (SIPKPM), an introduction to the SAFE programme and its strategic framework, a focused analysis of the Child Act 2001 (Act 876), and a creative, hands-on workshop on the “6S and Anti-Bullying Creative Directives.” Through group discussions and scenario-based simulations, participants gained clearer insights into identifying early warning signs and implementing timely intervention strategies.

On the second day (July 16), the programme deepened its practical focus. The morning commenced with a campus tour of TOC Automotive College, offering participants a first-hand look at integrated management within a vocational education setting. This was followed by expert-led sessions on “Recovery-Focused Counselling” and the “Peer Support (PRS) Module,” designed to equip educators with psychosocial and peer-assisted tools to foster a supportive school climate. The workshop concluded with a brief closing ceremony at midday, during which TWINTECH representatives presented certificates of participation and extended gratitude to all facilitators and attendees. They encouraged each participant to translate the knowledge gained into actionable measures within their respective schools, ensuring the SAFE framework is effectively localised.
