WELCOME TO THE SCHOOL OF ARTS, DESIGN AND CREATIVE TECHNOLOGY

School Description

Welcome to a creative learning community where ideas, culture and technology come together. The School of Arts, Design and Creative Technology offers an environment for students, researchers and creative practitioners to explore art, design, visual communication and interactive media through contemporary, responsible and research-informed practice.

Our proposed programmes are designed to nurture creative thinking, practical capability, critical enquiry and professional awareness. With Southeast Asian cultural perspectives as an important foundation, the School encourages learners to create meaningful work for local, regional and international contexts.

Strategic Pillars

We focus on the five (5) strategic pillars:

Apply Southeast Asian art histories, local knowledge and traditional aesthetic principles in contemporary visual communication without reducing culture to decoration.

Build capability in digital production, creative coding, UI/UX, motion, interactive systems and immersive media while keeping learning outcomes independent of any single software platform.

Develop strong foundations in visual language, typography, semiotics, spatial organisation, research, critique and reflective practice.

Prepare students to manage projects, collaborate across disciplines, present proposals, understand clients and audiences, and move work from concept to delivery.

Embed accessibility, responsible artificial intelligence, copyright and intellectual property, privacy, cultural sensitivity, sustainable production and social responsibility across the curriculum.

The school has established a complete education system from undergraduate to doctoral level. The curriculum is fully aligned with international standards and all courses are taught in English.
