Officials from Manchester Metropolitan University, UK and Former Senior British Trade Official Visit Twintech International University College of Technology in Malaysia

November 17, 2025, Malaysia ,Twintech International University College of Technology welcomed two prominent international visitors: Dr. Benedicte Brahic from Manchester Metropolitan University, UK, and Mr. Siva, former Senior Manager of the Department for International Trade (Education) at the British High Commission. The parties engaged in comprehensive and in-depth discussions on establishing a high-level platform for international collaboration.

The university extended a warm welcome and high-level reception to the distinguished guests. Professor Dr. Selvaraj Oyyan Pillay, Deputy Vice Chancellor, personally led the delegation to receive the visitors alongside Mr. Chen, Marketing Manager, and other university representatives. To provide the guests with a thorough understanding of Twintech’s educational strengths, the university arranged a meticulously planned campus tour. The visitors explored cutting-edge engineering and innovation laboratories, a well-resourced library, and smart teaching facilities. Professor Dr. Selvaraj Oyyan Pillay elaborated on Twintech’s distinctive advantages and achievements in education and applied technology. The advanced teaching infrastructure and vibrant research environment left a deep impression on the guests.

The subsequent discussions proceeded in a constructive atmosphere, with both parties agreeing to pursue the discussion into next level and exploring collaboration in the following key areas and delving into possible implementation pathways soon:

Academic and Research Collaboration: The two institutions plan to explore joint research activities in priority areas of mutual interest that will be communicated later. This includes jointly applying for international research grants and co-publishing high-level academic papers.

Teaching Quality and Standards: Manchester Metropolitan University will consider appointing its Senior Professors as external examiners for selected Postgraduate programmes by reserach at Twintech, ensuring academic standards align with top international benchmarks. Additionally, both sides will collaborate on designing course modules that integrate the latest industry insights and academic research into teaching.

Faculty and Student Exchange: The possibility of establishing a “Visiting Professor Fellowship” was explored, enabling international faculty from Manchester Metropolitan University to regularly conduct short-term teaching and specialized workshops at Twintech. Furthermore, student exchange programs and summer study projects will be promoted to enrich students’ international experience.

Degree Programs and Dual Awards: There was also discussion on dual awards which needed further follow up meetings to establish best possible mode to deliver academic programs using subject matter experts from both institutions.

The visit concluded successfully with positive consensus, as both parties agreed to actively advance follow-up efforts aimed at establishing a stable strategic partnership between the two esteemed institutions. This successful exchange not only deepened mutual understanding but also opened broad prospects for Twintech students to access enhanced international educational resources and step onto the global stage.
